Carbon Capture Technology Lab

Interactive carbon-capture simulator: watch a real CO2/N2/O2 gas mix flow through a capture column, switch between post-combustion amine scrubbing, Direct Air Capture and mineralization, and track how much CO2 gets pulled out and stored.

Carbon capture and storage (CCS) covers a family of technologies that pull CO₂ out of a gas stream before it reaches the atmosphere. This simulator visualizes three of the main approaches side by side: post-combustion amine scrubbing (reacting concentrated flue gas with a liquid solvent), Direct Air Capture (pulling dilute CO₂ straight out of ambient air with a solid sorbent), and mineralization (converting captured CO₂ into stable solid carbonate rock). A live particle stream of gas molecules flows up through a capture column and sorbent zone; CO₂ molecules that react are pulled aside into a storage tank while inert molecules pass straight through. Adjust CO₂ concentration, gas flow speed and sorbent bed height to see how each technology's capture efficiency and total CO₂ captured respond.

PLACEHOLDER: watch CO2 molecules flow through a capture column and compare post-combustion amine scrubbing, Direct Air Capture and mineralization; tune concentration, flow speed and bed height and track captured CO2. Text to be finalized via the LM Studio content pipeline.
