BECCS Negative-Emissions Power Plant — 2D Flow Diagram

Interactive 2D BECCS (Bioenergy with Carbon Capture and Storage) flow diagram: unlike the 3D version's continuous accumulator, this model tracks individually-massed CO2 parcels from combustion through the amine capture column to a geological reservoir, halts new injection once the reservoir is physically full, and lets you drag-pan and scroll-zoom the whole flow.

This 2D companion to the 3D BECCS simulator keeps the same real-world subject and the same governing mass-balance equation, but computes the removal accounting a genuinely different way: instead of one continuous accumulator, individually-massed CO2 parcels travel from the boiler through the capture column to the storage reservoir, and a parcel can only be stored if the reservoir still has room when it gets there — so the live capture rate correctly falls to zero once the reservoir is full, rather than reporting a phantom ongoing capture rate against an already-saturated total. Tune the biomass feed rate, capture efficiency, capacity factor and simulated time speed, and drag-pan / scroll-zoom the flow diagram to inspect the boiler, capture column and reservoir up close.
