Beekeeping Across Climate Zones: Annual Honey Budget (2D)
2D honey-budget lab: the same five-climate seasonal temperature and forage-bloom model as the 3D hive, but integrated as a running income-vs-consumption balance across the whole year so you can see exactly when — and whether — a colony's stores run dry.
This 2D companion keeps the same five-zone seasonal climate model that drives the 3D hive's temperature curve, forage bloom and flight threshold, but instead of showing one month at a time it re-integrates a simple honey-income-vs-consumption budget across the full year every time a control changes: forage income only accrues once it is warm enough to fly and something is in bloom, thermal loss rises as the effective temperature drops below the shivering threshold, and the running balance — started from whatever stores figure the slider sets for 1 January — either survives the low point of winter or visibly goes negative on the chart. Toggling the insulation wrap or entrance reducer raises the effective temperature the same way it does in the 3D scene, which shows up directly as a shallower dip in the stores curve and a lower starvation-risk reading.
2D honey-budget lab: a five-zone seasonal temperature and bloom model feeds an Euler-integrated income-vs-consumption balance across the whole year, exposed through a zone select, month slider, starting-stores slider and two intervention toggles.
