Green chemistry is a set of twelve design principles for making chemical processes inherently less wasteful and hazardous, rather than cleaning up the mess afterward. This simulation turns two of its core ideas — atom economy and waste minimization — into a live 3D reactor: reactant atoms stream in continuously and split into a product stream and a waste stream whose relative size depends on the reaction pathway, catalyst loading and solvent choice you pick.
