This simulator models the cathode of a CO2 electrolyzer, where two reactions compete for the same supply of electrons: CO2 reduction, which converts dissolved CO2 into useful carbon products, and the hydrogen evolution reaction, which just wastes charge splitting water. Pick a catalyst, dial in the applied potential, and set how much CO2 reaches the surface (partial pressure and electrolyte flow) to watch the Faradaic efficiency split between the two pathways shift in real time, along with which specific CO2RR product dominates and whether the cell is kinetics-limited or diffusion-limited.
