This is the 2D counterpart to the 3D tablet-press engine, built around genuinely distinct mechanics rather than a flattened camera view. A soft-sphere contact simulation runs the granule cross-section directly: each disc carries its own position and velocity, and feels real spring–damper forces from the floor, die walls, descending punch and its neighbours, so the bed physically jostles and settles rather than being repositioned by formula. Driving that motion is the real Heckel equation, the same densification law pharmaceutical scientists use to characterise how a powder compresses — and a second panel plots it live: sweep the punch pressure and watch the diagnostic ln[1/(1-D)] vs P line get traced and fitted in real time, with the fitted slope compared directly against the material's theoretical 1/Py.
