📓 Field Research Logistics

A multi-site apiary field route where a researcher logs notebook entries at each colony while a live safety-radius model reacts to defensiveness, weather and PPE level.

A researcher walks a fixed route between apiary study sites, pausing to log a standardized notebook entry at each colony while a live safety-radius model — driven by defensiveness, temperature and PPE level — shows exactly where an approach becomes a documented near-miss.

🔬 What It Demonstrates

Field safety radii aren't fixed — they scale with colony defensiveness and temperature, and shrink with better PPE. The notebook panel mirrors a real SOP's minimum fields: site, time, weather, and colony state.

🎮 How to Use

Adjust defensiveness, temperature and PPE level and watch the risk spheres resize and recolor. Toggle the buddy-system observer, then watch the researcher complete the route and the notebook fill in live.

💡 Did You Know?

Honeybee defensive flight activity rises sharply above roughly 20°C, which is why many apiary field SOPs schedule inspections for cooler morning hours and mandate a minimum smoker-ready approach distance.
