This 2D companion turns the tarsier's night leap into a real projectile-motion model: leap power and launch angle set the parabola, gravity does the rest, and darkness (offset by auditory targeting) adds aim error that can send the jump short of the next branch's height or off its landing zone.

⚙ Under the hood

Each leap solves the standard projectile equations for time-to-height and landing position; darkness scaled by (1 − auditory targeting) perturbs the launch speed and angle before the flight is computed, so a bright, well-aimed leap lands cleanly while a dark, poorly-targeted one falls short or overshoots the branch's tolerance zone.
