Numbat Termite Forage (2D)
A 2D thermal-budget foraging simulation: a numbat's shallow-scratch-and-lick termite foraging is paced by its own body temperature, which drifts toward ambient and must be topped up by sun-basking (heliothermy) — the one Australian marsupial that runs its whole day this way.
This 2D companion turns the numbat's day into an explicit thermal budget rather than a scripted animation: body temperature drifts toward whatever the numbat is currently standing in — shade or direct sun — and every part of its behaviour, from walking speed to how fast its tongue flicks up termites to how quickly it can outrun a predator, is throttled by how close that temperature sits to its roughly 35°C active optimum. Because the numbat is the only marsupial that runs its entire daily schedule this way — no internal shivering thermogenesis to fall back on — the basking-versus-foraging trade-off the sliders expose is the actual constraint that shapes a wild numbat's day, not set dressing.
