Manta Cleaning Station Lab (2D)
A 2D top-down queueing simulation: manta rays build up parasite load while cruising open water, join a first-in-first-out queue once the reef station's cleaner-fish slots are full, and get serviced. Adjust slot count and service time to see queue length and wait time respond.
This 2D companion builds the real mechanic the 3D lab's title implies but its generic flocking engine never modeled: a genuine multi-server queueing system. Parasite load rises on every manta while it cruises open water; once it crosses a threshold it joins a FIFO queue for the station's cleaner-fish slots, waits its turn, and gets serviced — with queue length, average wait time and throughput tracked live, the same variables a real M/M/c queueing model would report.
A first-in-first-out queue feeding a configurable number of cleaning slots; parasite load climbs during open water and decays linearly during service. Wait time and throughput are measured directly from the simulation, not display-only formulas.
