Max-Pressure Traffic Signal Control
Interactive 3x3 urban grid network where each intersection runs the real Max-Pressure adaptive signal-control algorithm, switching phases to relieve the longest queue imbalance. Compare it live against fixed-time signals under adjustable Poisson traffic demand.
A 3×3 grid of city intersections, each running a real adaptive signal-control algorithm instead of a fixed clock. Poisson-distributed traffic enters from all four sides of the network and travels straight through, queueing at red lights along the way. Toggle between Max-Pressure — where every intersection independently switches to whichever phase maximizes the difference between its own queues and the queues immediately downstream — and a naive Fixed-Time baseline that alternates on a plain timer regardless of demand. Watch queues, throughput and total vehicles in the network respond live as you change arrival rate, saturation flow and minimum green time.
