🧪 Research Literature Review Simulation

Interactive 3D citation-network simulator: run backward/forward snowball sampling from seed papers, screen each new candidate against a relevance threshold, and watch the marginal-yield curve reveal when a systematic literature review has saturated.

This simulation demonstrates how researchers synthesize existing knowledge through a literature review. Starting from a handful of seed papers at the center of a synthetic citation network, each round follows backward references and forward citations to surface new candidate papers, screens them against an adjustable relevance threshold, and expands the frontier from whatever gets included. Live readouts track how many papers have been screened, how much of the hidden relevant literature has been covered, and — most importantly — the marginal yield per round, the same diminishing-returns signal real systematic reviewers use to decide when a search has saturated and further snowballing is not worth the effort.
