Environmental AI: Satellite Change Detection
Interactive 3D simulation of an AI environmental-monitoring satellite: a computer-vision change-detection pass sweeps a forest grid, flagging deforestation and pollution spread as they happen, with sensitivity, rate and scan-speed controls.
Environmental-monitoring AI rarely watches the ground continuously — it compares one satellite pass against the last and flags whatever changed more than a chosen threshold. This simulation grows a forest-and-river grid where a clearing front eats into the canopy and a pollution plume diffuses from its source, while a scan line sweeps the tile the way a real satellite revisit does, raising a red alert marker wherever the change between passes crosses the detector's sensitivity. Adjust the rates, the threshold and the revisit speed to see the same trade-off real deforestation and water-quality alert systems face: catch small changes early, or wait and risk a much larger one going unflagged.
