Environmental AI: Satellite Change Detection (2D)
2D top-down companion: a satellite scan line sweeps a forest/pollution grid, flagging deforestation and pollution changes that cross a configurable detector-sensitivity threshold between passes.
This top-down companion drives the same grid model as the 3D version, viewed as a plain overhead map: a clearing front eats into a forest canopy, a pollution plume diffuses outward from a fixed source, and a scan line sweeps the tile row by row, flagging a red or magenta ring wherever the change between passes crosses the detector's sensitivity threshold — the same trade-off real deforestation and water-quality alert systems face between catching small changes early and missing a larger one.
A 30×30 grid grows a clearing front and diffuses a pollution plume while a scan line sweeps it row by row, comparing each cell's state against its last pass and flagging any change past the sensitivity threshold.
