Satellite Network: Kepler Orbits & Inter-Satellite Links (2D)

2D satellite-constellation lab: each satellite's orbital period follows Kepler's third law, inter-satellite links form only when two satellites are within range and Earth isn't blocking the line of sight, and a live panel tracks connectivity and ground coverage.

This 2D companion swaps the 3D scene for a top-down orbital-mechanics view: each satellite's angular speed is computed from Kepler's third law using Earth's real gravitational parameter, so inner orbits genuinely revolve faster than outer ones. A link between two satellites lights up only when they're within the chosen range and the straight line between them doesn't pass through Earth, and a live panel reports active link count, network connectivity, ground coverage (from each satellite's line-of-sight footprint) and the constellation's average altitude and period.

⚙ Under the hood

2D satellite-constellation lab: circular orbits obey Kepler's third law (T = 2π√(r³/μ)), inter-satellite links form when two satellites are in range and not occluded by Earth, and a live panel tracks connectivity and ground coverage.
