Magma Chamber & Conduit Dynamics (2D)
Feed a magma chamber and watch bulk-modulus pressure buildup meet Hagen–Poiseuille conduit flow: the vent opens on a real fracture threshold and reseals when pressure drops, cycling between effusive, Strombolian and Plinian eruption styles as you tune influx, conduit radius, viscosity and gas content.
The 3D original animates a fixed-timer lava burst with no user controls; this 2D companion replaces it with a driven physical model instead. A magma chamber pressurizes from bulk-modulus compression as you set the influx rate, a Hagen–Poiseuille conduit throttles outflow by radius and viscosity once a real fracture threshold is crossed, and the live pressure trace shows the resulting fracture/reseal cycle emerging from those equations. Eruption style — effusive, Strombolian or Plinian — is classified live from gas content, viscosity and the computed exit velocity.
2D magma-chamber lab: Poiseuille conduit flow and bulk-modulus pressure buildup drive a real fracture/reseal eruption cycle steered by influx rate, conduit radius, viscosity and gas content.
