A 2D companion to the 3D Diesel-cycle engine model: the same air-standard cycle — isentropic compression, constant-pressure fuel injection, isentropic expansion and constant-volume exhaust — is drawn as a full-size, live-updating P–V diagram plus a 2D schematic piston cross-section, instead of a rendered piston-and-crank assembly. The loop's enclosed area is numerically integrated stroke by stroke to compute net work and mean effective pressure, and cross-checked live against the closed-form thermal-efficiency formula, so the compression-ratio/cutoff-ratio efficiency trade-off is visible both as pure geometry and as an independently verified number.
