Large case databases — UFO sighting archives among them — accumulate far more noise than signal: duplicate filings, hoaxes and simple misidentifications outnumber genuinely unexplained reports many times over. This simulator scatters a synthetic report database across a 2D region, mixing uniformly random noise reports with a configurable number of genuinely correlated events (many independent witnesses reporting the same real occurrence, so their reports land close together). A live nearest-neighbor distance calculation and the Clark–Evans statistic compare the observed spatial pattern against what pure random noise would produce, flagging tight groups of reports as candidate real clusters. Tune the noise rate, cluster count, cluster tightness and detector sensitivity to see how easily — or not — a genuine correlated event can be pulled out of a contaminated database.
