🔭 Webb Transit Spectrum Lab: Scale Height, Molecules and a Lopsided Exoplanet Atmosphere
The transit-spectroscopy measurement chain: limb-darkened light curve, scale height H = kT/(mu m_H g), schematic H2O/CH4/CO2/CO bands, clouds and haze, photon-limited error bars from N transits, and a morning/evening limb temperature asymmetry (hot-spot offset). A chi-squared retrieval fits H2O abundance; experiments check amplitude vs H against a chord integral and precision vs 1/sqrt(N) against a Fisher prediction. Differs from the catalogue's other exoplanet-atmosphere sims by modelling the whole observing chain and the limb asymmetry.
