This simulation models the transit method used to detect exoplanets: a planet orbits its host star, and whenever it passes in front of the stellar disk it blocks a small, precisely computable fraction of the star's light. The upper view shows the star-planet system from the side; the lower chart is a live light curve — relative brightness over time — computed from real circle-overlap transit geometry, including an optional limb-darkening model that rounds the dip the way real telescope data looks. Adjust the planet's relative size, orbital distance, star mass and impact parameter to see how each reshapes the depth, duration and period of the dip that astronomers actually search for.
