Lunar Landing Lab (2D)
A side-view companion to the 3D Lunar Landing Lab: rotate the craft and throttle its main engine to control a real two-axis descent, switch between Moon, Mars and Earth gravity, and touch down upright and slow on a procedurally generated surface.
This 2D companion trades the 3D original's chase camera for a plain side-on view built around the same rocket-descent physics: a throttle control sets thrust along the craft's own nose axis rather than a fixed vertical, so rotating the lander with the left/right controls genuinely redirects where the engine pushes — line the nose up and slow horizontal drift disappears, tip it and the craft slides sideways even at full burn. A gravity-body selector swaps the constant between the Moon (1.62 m/s²), Mars (3.71 m/s²) and Earth (9.81 m/s²) mid-flight, changing how much throttle is needed to hover and how punishing a late burn becomes, while a terrain-roughness slider reshapes the procedurally generated surface around a fixed landing pad. Touchdown is scored on three independent conditions shown live in the status panel — on the pad, upright, and slow enough — so a "hard impact" always explains exactly which one failed.
2D side-view lunar-lander companion: throttle plus rotation-vectored thrust, a switchable Moon/Mars/Earth gravity constant, and a procedurally regenerated surface with a fixed landing pad — landing success requires being on the pad, upright, and slow simultaneously.
