Orbital Habitat Construction: Spin-Up & Mass-Balance Lab (2D)
2D rotating-habitat construction lab: build a ring station module by module, watch the center of mass wobble under lopsided assembly, and read live artificial gravity, hoop stress and spin-up dynamics computed from real rigid-body formulas.
This 2D companion turns "orbital habitat construction" into an actual rigid-body build: you attach modules one at a time to a rotating ring station and every readout — artificial gravity, rim hoop stress, moment of inertia and spin-up rate — is computed live from the real positions and masses on the ring, not animated for show. Choosing a sequential build order visibly drags the center of mass off the spin axis exactly as it would on a real lopsided station, while the symmetric build order keeps it pinned near zero, making the engineering tradeoff between build order and stability directly visible.
2D rotating-habitat construction lab: build a ring station module by module, watch the center of mass wobble under lopsided assembly, and read live artificial gravity (g=ω²R), rim hoop stress (σ=ρv²), moment of inertia (I=ΣmR²) and thruster-driven spin-up dynamics (α=τ/I) computed from real rigid-body formulas, not scripted animation.
