🧪 Galaxy Collision Simulation (2D)
A top-down 2D companion to the 3D galaxy-merger scene: two logarithmic-spiral star fields drift toward each other while a proximity-based tidal swirl warps their arms in real time.
This 2D companion drives the same logarithmic-spiral generation and proximity-based tidal-swirl mechanic as the 3D scene, viewed top-down on a flat canvas: each galaxy's stars start on a fixed spiral-arm layout, and as the two cores drift together the local swirl and inward pull on every particle scale with how close it currently sits to the other galaxy's center, so the arms visibly stretch and wind up rather than being pre-baked animation.
2D top-down galaxy-merger lab: two logarithmic-spiral star fields drift together while a proximity-based tidal swirl warps their arms — adjustable approach speed, tidal strength, star count and arm count.
