Asteroid Mining: Thermal & Atmospheric Control (2D)

A 2D asteroid-mining drill you keep alive: manage sun angle, dome pressure and drill power against a real thermal-balance model, while gravity sets the escape velocity that decides whether the dust you kick up comes back as ore or is lost to space.

The 3D original drives its scene from generic "activity / atmosphere / lighting" sliders with no real environmental model behind them. This 2D companion builds the genuine mechanic its title promises instead: a Stefan–Boltzmann plus pressure-scaled convective thermal balance that can actually overheat the drill, and a gravity-derived escape velocity that decides whether ejected regolith falls back as ore or is lost to space.

⚙ Under the hood

Lumped thermal-balance ODE (radiative + convective cooling) for drill temperature, cosine-law solar power, and gravity-derived escape velocity (v_esc = √(2gR)) governing ejecta fate.
