Two coherent point sources radiate outward across a 3D heightfield surface — the same geometry behind Young's double-slit experiment and ripple-tank demonstrations. Every point on the surface displaces by the sum of what each source contributes there (superposition). Switch the source waveform between sine, square and triangle: a sine wave produces the classic smooth fringe pattern, while square and triangle waves are secretly sums of many sine harmonics, each building its own tighter interference pattern that layers on top of the fundamental's, sharpening and reshaping the visible fringes.
