Data centers and telecom exchanges increasingly automate their fiber patch panels with robotic cross-connects: an XY gantry robot that physically moves patch cords between jacks instead of a technician doing it by hand. This simulator renders a 48-port cross-connect panel with live fiber routes, then drives a real gantry robot — independent X and Y travel, pick, carry, place — through reconfigure operations that unplug one end of a cord and re-seat it at a new port through a cable-management trough. Every route is scored against the standard optical link budget: two connector losses, fiber attenuation over the physical cable length, and a macrobend penalty that spikes once the enforced bend radius drops below the fiber's critical radius, so tightening the robot's turning radius has an immediate, visible cost in signal loss.
