Manipulator-Sorter: 2-Link Arm Inverse Kinematics & Pick-and-Place (2D)
A torque-limited 2-link manipulator solves closed-form inverse kinematics every cycle to pick colored parts off a conveyor and sort them into bins — arm speed, spawn rate, targeting precision and payload torque limit are all live controls that visibly change cycle time and the live success rate.
This 2D companion trades the 3D version's decorative "AI training lab" dashboard (a shared template reused across a hundred unrelated agent scenes, with no actual manipulator or sorting mechanic behind its reward numbers) for the real thing: a 2-link planar arm that solves inverse kinematics analytically on every cycle, picks colored parts off a moving conveyor, and places them in the bin matching their color. Arm speed, spawn rate, targeting precision and a payload torque limit are all live controls — push parts heavier than the torque limit through the line and watch the arm visibly slow under load exactly like a real servo running out of torque, while the jitter from imprecise targeting quietly drags the live success-rate readout down.
2D pick-and-place lab: a torque-limited 2-link manipulator solves inverse kinematics each cycle to pluck colored parts off a conveyor and sort them into bins, with targeting jitter and payload overload dragging down the live success rate.
