Lumbar Disc Pressure & Lifting Mechanics
Interactive 3D lumbar-spine model: bend the trunk, hold a load at arm's length, and switch between a stoop lift and a squat lift to see how intradiscal pressure at L4-L5, spinal compressive force and erector-spinae muscle force change in real time.
A 3D biomechanical model of the lumbar spine that turns posture and lifting technique into a real, moment-balance calculation. Bend the trunk, add a hand-held load, change how far it sits from the body, and switch between a straight-legged stoop lift and a bent-knee squat lift to watch the erector-spinae muscle force, L4–L5 compressive force and intradiscal pressure update live, with the monitored disc changing colour and bulging as pressure rises — the same mechanics physical therapists use to teach safer lifting after a spinal injury.
