👁 Refractive Surgery Candidacy — 3D
A real 3D companion to the Refractive Surgery Candidacy screener: the same PTA, residual-stromal-bed and Randleman-score formulas drive a genuine orbitable corneal cross-section, with a true femtosecond flap plane, an excimer ablation crater carved to the correct depth, and an inferior ectasia bulge when the topography flag trips.
A 3D Tissue-Budget Model of Refractive Candidacy
This companion view turns the 2D screener's numbers into an actual revolved corneal cross-section built from the real keratometric radius formula (R = 337.5 ÷ K). The same Percent Tissue Altered, residual stromal bed (RSB) and Randleman-style scoring drive genuine 3D geometry rather than a flat diagram: a femtosecond flap rendered as a true planar cut, an excimer ablation crater sunk to the exact computed depth, and a remaining stromal-bed floor colored by its real risk band.
- Central corneal thickness: resizes the whole revolved corneal shell and shifts the residual-bed floor, using the identical 420–620 µm range as the 2D model.
- Manifest refraction (SE): scales the ablation crater's real depth (14 µm per diopter, the same rule-of-thumb as the 2D screener) and the resulting RSB and PTA readouts.
- Corneal curvature (Kmax): a new control that drives the real R = 337.5/K corneal radius and fills in the topographic-pattern component of the Randleman score that the 2D model documents but leaves at zero — past 44 D it also displaces the mesh itself into a genuine inferior ectasia bulge, the classic red-flag pattern described in the source screener.
Reading the scene
The Randleman gauge on the right sweeps its needle across the same 0–12 point scale as the underlying score, and the LASIK/PRK/SMILE/ICL decision tree on the left glows on whichever node the identical procedure-selection branches recommend. Drag to orbit, scroll to zoom, or hit auto-rotate — every value in the side panel is computed live from the same formulas as the 2D chart.
