Sparticle Cascade Decay & Missing Transverse Energy
Interactive 3D SUSY collider event display: produce a gluino/squark pair, watch its cascade decay chain into quark jets plus an invisible neutralino, and read off the missing transverse energy (MET) vector that betrays the escaping dark-matter candidate.
This simulator recreates the core signature LHC experiments use to hunt for supersymmetry: a gluino–squark pair is produced back-to-back, then each sparticle cascades down through real, energy-momentum-conserving two-body decays until it reaches the neutralino — the lightest supersymmetric particle, stable and invisible under R-parity conservation. Every quark jet you see is drawn from an actual boosted 4-momentum computed with the relativistic two-body decay formula and Lorentz boost, not a canned animation. Because the neutralino escapes without depositing energy, the visible jets alone fail to balance in the transverse plane — the missing transverse energy (MET) vector you see is exactly that imbalance, the same quantity ATLAS and CMS scan for as evidence of escaping dark-matter candidates.
