Silicon Ring-Resonator Modulator — Spectrogram & Phasor View

2D simulation of a carrier-depletion silicon micro-ring modulator: a live wavelength-vs-time transmission spectrogram plus a complex-plane phasor view of the intracavity field building up round trip by round trip.

This 2D simulator renders the same carrier-depletion silicon micro-ring modulator physics as the 3D version, but through two flat, physics-native fields instead of a rendered torus. A scrolling wavelength-vs-time spectrogram shows the real all-pass ring transmission dip drifting as reverse bias red-shifts the resonance, while a complex-plane phasor diagram time-steps the intracavity field round trip by round trip using the ring's coupled-wave recursion — so you can watch the cavity's stored energy genuinely spiral toward a new steady state after every bias change, rather than jumping there instantly. Both panels are driven by the identical transfer-function math used in the flagship 3D scene, verified to agree to machine precision.
