Bose-Einstein Condensate (2D)

2D Canvas companion to the Bose-Einstein Condensate simulation: the same Gross-Pitaevskii split-step Fourier solver, drawn as a flat density/phase field with live vortex, energy and condensate-fraction readouts.

This 2D companion runs the identical Gross-Pitaevskii split-step Fourier solver as the 3D version — the same imaginary-time ground-state relaxation, the same real-time kinetic/potential splitting via FFT — but draws the wave function straight onto a plain canvas as a density or phase field instead of a rendered texture quad, so the underlying physics reads directly off the grid: watch the condensate fraction grow as temperature falls below Tc, the density profile broaden under stronger interactions, and quantised vortices nucleate when the stir rate is raised.

⚙ Under the hood

2D Canvas Gross-Pitaevskii solver: split-step Fourier time evolution on a 64×64 grid, imaginary-time ground-state relaxation, live vortex counting by phase winding, and energy/condensate-fraction readouts updated every frame.
