Magnetism in real materials emerges from billions of atomic spins interacting through the quantum-mechanical exchange interaction, described at a coarse level by the Ising model. This simulator runs a live Metropolis Monte Carlo simulation on a square lattice of spins: pick ferromagnetic or antiferromagnetic coupling, tune the temperature relative to the critical point, and add an external field to bias the lattice, then watch domains nucleate, grow and dissolve in real time while magnetization, energy and order-parameter readouts track the lattice's macroscopic state.
