🧪 Galactic Bulge N-Body Orbits

Real Newtonian N-body simulation of stellar orbits in a galactic bulge: a few hundred point-mass stars orbit a central supermassive mass under real gravity, integrated with a symplectic (velocity-Verlet) scheme, with live total-energy tracking as a correctness check.

A galactic bulge is the dense, roughly spherical concentration of old stars at a galaxy's centre, orbiting under the combined gravity of a central supermassive mass and each other. This simulator integrates several hundred point-mass stars around a central mass using real Newtonian gravity and a symplectic velocity-Verlet integrator, so the elliptical, precessing orbits you see emerge from the physics rather than being scripted. Toggle star self-gravity to see orbits perturb each other, tune the central mass to see Kepler's third law in action, and watch the live total-energy readout as a running check that the integrator is behaving correctly.
