Catapult Physics Simulator (2D)

Side-view catapult range test: adjust release angle, stored energy, projectile mass and headwind, then launch to watch drag and gravity shape the trajectory and landing range.

This 2D companion strips the 3D catapult scene down to a plain side-on range view, using the same energy-to-velocity launch model: stored energy converts to muzzle speed via v = √(2·E·η/m), then gravity and quadratic air drag (with an adjustable headwind) integrate the flight step by step so the trail you see is the actual numerically-computed trajectory, not a fixed parabola.

⚙ Under the hood

Side-view catapult range simulator: release angle, stored energy and projectile mass set the launch speed, a headwind slider perturbs the drag term, and gravity plus quadratic drag are integrated each frame to trace the real trajectory to impact.
