Glass Shatter Fragments (2D)
A 2D glass pane shatters from a click point: polar-triangulated shards radiate outward with rotation and parabolic gravity fall, then fade and re-form for the next impact. Adjustable shatter force, gravity and fragment count, with a live readout of airborne shards, average speed and kinetic energy.
This 2D companion flattens the glass-shatter mechanic into a plain canvas view built for reading the fracture pattern rather than orbiting a 3D scene: clicking or tapping the pane sets a new impact point, and a ring of triangular shards — cut by connecting that point to a sorted set of random angles around it, the same silhouette a single-impact Voronoi fracture produces — is generated on the spot. Each shard then radiates outward along its own ray with an independent rotation, a delay proportional to how far it started from the impact, and a parabolic fall under gravity, before fading out and the pane silently re-forming for the next click. The shatter-force, gravity and fragment-count sliders make the underlying assumptions explicit — more fragments read as a finer weathered-glass break, fewer as a coarse windshield crack — and the live readout panel tracks how many shards are still airborne, their average speed and the system's aggregate kinetic energy as the cycle plays out.
