💨 DSMC Rarefied Gas Flow: 2D Kinetic-Theory Particle Lab
2D Direct Simulation Monte Carlo (DSMC) lab: ballistic particles binned into cells, No-Time-Counter stochastic collisions, and a live Knudsen number computed from real kinetic theory as you change density, molecular size and grid resolution.
This 2D companion runs the same Direct Simulation Monte Carlo method as the 3D lab on a plain canvas built for reading the statistical mechanics directly: individual molecules drift and collide with Bird's No-Time-Counter algorithm inside a visible cell grid, a live Knudsen number is computed from the real mean-free-path formula as you change particle density and molecular diameter, and a running speed histogram compares the gas against the theoretical 2D Maxwell–Boltzmann curve so you can watch it thermalize in real time.
2D DSMC particle lab: ballistic free flight each step, per-cell No-Time-Counter stochastic collisions, and a Knudsen number computed live from n, molecular diameter and obstacle size — real kinetic theory, not decorative particles.
