Bridge Resonance Dynamics (2D)
A driven damped-harmonic-oscillator model of a bridge deck: tune the driving (wind-gust) frequency against the deck's own natural frequency and damping to watch the amplitude climb as the ratio approaches resonance.
This is the 2D-native counterpart to the 3D bridge resonance simulator. Instead of orbiting a rendered deck, it integrates a genuine driven damped-harmonic-oscillator equation (m·y″ + c·y′ + k·y = F₀·sin(ωt)) in real time and draws the resulting deflection as a mode-shape curve, so the amplification you see is the same physics behind Tacoma-Narrows-style resonant failure, not a scripted animation.
A single-degree-of-freedom driven damped oscillator models the deck; amplitude, frequency ratio and the analytic amplification factor 1/√((1−r²)²+(2ζr)²) update live as you move the sliders.
