Galvanic Cell Battery Simulator (2D)
Interactive 2D galvanic (voltaic) cell simulator: pick two metal electrodes, watch electrons flow through the wire and ions drift through the salt bridge, and read the cell EMF computed live from standard reduction potentials.
This 2D simulator draws a galvanic (voltaic) cell from the side: two half-cell beakers, each holding a metal electrode in a solution of its own ions, joined by an external wire on top and a salt-bridge tube below. Pick any two electrode metals and the simulator automatically works out which one oxidizes (the anode) and which one reduces (the cathode) from real standard reduction potentials, then computes the cell's EMF as E°(cathode) − E°(anode) — the same equation used in any chemistry textbook. Watch electrons drift through the external wire from anode to cathode, ions drift through the salt bridge to keep the charge balanced, and the anode visibly shrink while the cathode grows as the reaction proceeds; open the circuit or change the load resistance to see the current respond instantly.
Pick two metal electrodes and watch a 2D galvanic cell generate current, with the anode and cathode, EMF, and electron/ion flow all computed live from real standard reduction potentials.
