This 2D simulator draws a Wilson cloud chamber from above: a radioactive source at the center continuously emits alpha and beta particles while cosmic-ray muons streak in from off-screen, each leaving a condensation trail in the supersaturated vapor whose shape depends on the particle — short and thick for alphas, thin and wispy for betas, long and straight for muons. Toggle each particle type on or off, raise the source activity to see more tracks per minute, and dial up the magnetic field to watch the Lorentz force curve every charged track into an arc, with light betas spiraling tightly while heavy alphas and fast muons stay nearly straight.
