This 2D companion mirrors the 3D butterfly migration scene's flock mechanic — a population wandering around a shared path with independent flap and wander phases — but as a numerically-driven top-down map of the real monarch flyway. Each of the 60 butterflies streams from the northern breeding grounds to the Mexican overwintering forest and wraps back again, so the map always shows the population's live spread across the season instead of a single leader's path. The flock-speed, wing-flap and cohesion sliders carry over unchanged from the 3D scene.
