5G Network: Massive MIMO Beamforming (2D)

2D companion to the 3D 5G beamforming simulator: steer a real massive-MIMO array-factor beam, switch between Sub-6 GHz and mmWave, and watch beamwidth, path loss and Shannon throughput respond in real time.

A 2D companion to the 3D 5G beamforming simulator: set the antenna count and steering angle, switch between Sub-6 GHz and mmWave bands, and watch a real array-factor radiation pattern steer live while beamwidth, path loss, SNR and Shannon throughput respond.

⚙ Under the hood

Massive-MIMO beamforming combines many antenna elements with per-element phase offsets — the array factor AF(θ) — to build a directional beam pointed at a chosen steering angle while cancelling energy elsewhere. Higher frequency (mmWave) packs more bandwidth into the channel but suffers steeper free-space path loss and atmospheric absorption than Sub-6 GHz, which the array's gain must overcome to close the link.
