Two identical reaction vessels run side by side: one with the enzyme freely dissolved in solution, one with the same enzyme anchored to a solid support. Watch each batch convert substrate to product at its own characteristic rate, then see what happens between batches — one enzyme is discarded and repurchased, the other is simply filtered out and reused — and how that shapes cumulative product and cost over many repeated batches.
