Vocal Biomarkers of Depression: Acoustic Feature Analyzer
Interactive 3D simulator of speech-based depression biomarkers: adjust pitch variability, speech rate, pause ratio and loudness variability and watch a live acoustic risk score respond, based on published prosodic-marker research.
Speech carries measurable acoustic fingerprints of mood — pitch variability, speaking rate, pause behaviour and loudness dynamics all shift in documented, research-backed ways under depressive states. This simulator renders a live 3D pitch-contour ribbon of a synthesized utterance and a stream of syllable-pulse markers, both driven in real time by four adjustable acoustic parameters. A composite logistic risk score, built from published feature-importance rankings in the speech-based depression-screening literature, updates live as you drag the sliders, letting you see how monotone pitch, slowed rate, longer pauses and flattened loudness combine into the kind of signal that research-stage voice-analysis tools use to flag risk for clinician follow-up.
