🧪 Medical Advanced Wearable Medical Devices Simulation

Interactive 3D simulation of a wearable bioimpedance breathing monitor: watch a chest-strap sensor inject a tiny AC current, extract a respiration waveform from thoracic impedance changes, and see how motion artifact and apnea events fool (or don't fool) the detection algorithm.

Modern chest-strap and ECG-patch wearables often track breathing without any moving parts at all, using bioimpedance: a harmless AC current is injected between two skin electrodes, and the body's electrical impedance rises and falls as the lungs fill with poorly-conducting air. This simulation renders a breathing 3D torso with an animated lung volume, two sensing electrodes and the current path between them, then runs the same two-stage filter-and-peak-detect pipeline a real wearable uses to turn that noisy impedance trace into a breaths-per-minute reading. Dial in the patient's respiratory rate and tidal depth, add motion artifact to see the algorithm start to misfire, or trigger a 12-second apnea event and watch the alarm logic catch a real cessation of breathing.

⚙ Under the hood

This simulation demonstrates how wearable medical devices can be used for continuous patient monitoring and data collection. It explores the integration of sensors and analytics in healthcare.
