🧪 Medical Robotic Surgery Simulation
Interactive 3D model of a surgical-robot console-to-instrument link: tune motion-scaling ratio and tremor-filter time constant and watch a noisy, tremor-corrupted hand path get converted into a precise, filtered instrument-tip path in real time.
Robotic surgical systems don't just relay a surgeon's hand movement to the instrument — they process it. This simulation models the two-stage signal path that turns a shaky, wide human hand sweep into a steady, sub-millimetre instrument motion: an exponential low-pass filter that rejects physiological tremor, followed by a motion-scaling divider that shrinks the console handle's travel into a precise tip displacement. Drag the tremor, filter time-constant, and scaling-ratio sliders to watch the raw noisy console path and the clean scaled instrument path diverge and reconverge in real time, with a live RMS-precision readout and a tremor-rejection percentage exactly like the ones a real surgical-robot console reports.
This simulation demonstrates the use of robotic surgical systems to enhance surgical accuracy and minimize invasiveness. It highlights the role of automation in complex medical procedures.
