Brain Imaging Simulator
Interactive neuroimaging simulator: sweep an MRI/CT-style scan plane through a voxel brain volume, or switch to a functional fMRI/PET mode and watch a simulated BOLD activity signal light up cortical regions in real time.
Neuroimaging techniques such as MRI, CT, fMRI and PET let clinicians and researchers see inside a living brain without surgery. This simulator visualizes both halves of that story on one voxel-based brain volume: a structural mode sweeps an acquisition plane through the tissue slice by slice, the way a real scanner builds a 3D image, while a functional mode overlays a simulated BOLD activity signal across a handful of cortical regions, thresholded the way a real fMRI analysis pipeline draws an activation map. Switch scan mode and imaging plane, and tune scan speed, activity threshold and task-paradigm frequency to see how each changes what the scan reveals.
