Tagged cardiac MRI (SPAMM) burns a grid of magnetization markers into the heart muscle so that the tissue's own motion can be read directly off the images — a technique that still underpins modern myocardial strain and torsion analysis. This simulator renders a short-axis left-ventricular ring in 3D with a live tag grid overlaid: as the wall contracts and twists through a cardiac cycle, the grid lines and marker points warp exactly the way a deforming material grid would, while the surrounding blood pool and background stay fixed. Live readouts track circumferential strain (Ecc), radial strain (Err) and transmural twist — the same Lagrangian-strain quantities a radiologist reads off a real tagged or feature-tracked cine sequence — with independent sliders for contractility and twist so you can see how the two are geometrically coupled through wall thickening.
