Origami Crease-Pattern Folding: Accordion Kinematics (2D)
2D origami-folding lab: a hinged panel chain folds under real 2D rotation composition, conserving total paper length while its footprint, compaction ratio and peak layer stack change live as you edit the crease pattern.
This 2D companion reduces origami folding to the real kinematics behind it: a chain of rigid panels hinged end to end, each crease composing a 2D rotation on everything downstream, so paper length is provably conserved no matter how far you fold. A side panel exposes the panel count, the maximum crease angle and a fold-progress scrubber, three genuinely different crease-pattern rules (accordion, spiral, mixed), and a live readout of footprint, compaction ratio and peak layer stacking, turning "folding a sheet of paper" into a directly inspectable geometric transformation instead of a looping decorative animation.
