🧪 Geometric Mandala (2D)
A 2D canvas companion to the 3D mandala: concentric polar layers of rings, diamonds and petals rotate at alternating speeds around a pulsing central jewel, with layer count, growth rate, rotation speed and hue-cycle sliders and a live readout of shape count, symmetry order and angular velocity.
This 2D companion rebuilds the 3D mandala's layered-ring idea as a flat polar generator: each of up to twelve concentric layers holds a growing count of shapes — alternating rings, diamonds and triangular petals — spaced evenly around the centre and rotated by a per-layer angular velocity that flips direction on every other layer, exactly like the 3D version's counter-rotating rings but rendered directly onto a 2D canvas instead of orbited in a WebGL scene. A live readout tracks the outer ring's angular velocity in degrees per second, its symmetry order (how many shapes are evenly spaced around it), the running shape count across all layers, and the current hue as the whole palette slowly cycles, so the numbers behind the pattern are always visible next to the pattern itself.
